Thanksgiving Is Not Yet Over…
As a solopreneur, I make it a habit to have Thanksgiving almost everyday.
Owning a business, challenges can come in different shapes and forms, and with the brain’s negativity bias, it’s easy to back down and even give up. Therefore, it’s crucial to hardwire positivity so we can keep going and address problems with creative solutions. One of the most effective ways is practicing gratitude every day so we can truly install the sense of fulfillment and optimism into our brain structure.
For me, as and when I see my clients transform their careers and feel happier, or when I receive an email, a text, a comment from them sharing about their wins and thanking me for the guidance, I pause and sink into that moment, allowing myself to feel the positive emotions they bring. And on Thanksgiving Day, I often get myself a cup of tea, some dark chocolate, and reflect on the many lives I have helped, stay with the stories for a while, and even write in my journal. That way, they are stored in a deeper layer of my brain. That way, I can serve them at the next level.
As I wrote in my journal this year, I felt truly blessed for the many incredible women from across the globe (many know me at some level or are referred to me through my friends / former clients) who had trusted me to guide them on their transformational journey in both work and life.
I am also deeply thankful for the opportunity to do the work I do that fully aligns with my life purpose, natural strengths, true passion and core values — my Happiness Infinity Zone.
I feel deeply in my bones that I was born for this work: to go really deep with my clients so they can be well grounded and go high… on happiness.
It’s been eight amazing years on this journey and I still wake up each day feeling excited. Seeing how each life — from Asia to Europe to America — is transformed brings me immense joy. To be called a “unicorn,” or even a “spirit,” by clients is an honor.
I once pursued a Master’s in Public Policy at the “Harvard of Asia” and wrote corporate policies, but nothing compares to the fulfillment of this life-changing work. It’s deeply rewarding to witness real results, those that I put down into my journal and repeat to myself mentally sometimes as well:
“Now, when my child asks, “Why do you go to work, Mom?” I no longer say, ‘Because I have to,’ but instead, ‘Because I love to.’”
“If I am to live till over 90 years old, I now know what the next 60 years would look like!”
“I no longer feel discouraged and aimless like before. Instead, each day I wake up filled with positive energy and hope that I can live a more meaningful life, for myself, for my family, and for the world.”
“Overall, I am high on happiness. I am now very clear of what I want and what I don’t want in my life; more importantly, I could make things that deeply matter to me happen.”
“When organizational restructuring has become a norm in this era, I feel secure because I can clearly see my own HI Zone. Now I know what my career will look like in the coming years.”
“I now understand why I think and act as I do in every situation and I am empowered to discover the most effective ways to solve problems based on my unique talents.”
“A highlight of the program is the Happiness Infinity Zone: discovering my unique talents & strengths, articulating them, being aware of them, highlighting them, and working with them is so powerful and important, and the job I have now has all of that.”
“The HI Zone helps me make the right career decision that this is the right place for me instead of second-guessing.”
“The biggest feeling I have now is Relief. Another feeling I had is Freedom. I know emotional challenges will come my way from time to time, but at least I now have a deeper connection with myself, which makes me feel much happier and more grounded. Being able to express this makes me feel ‘free as a bird’.”
“I was able to articulate my self-limiting beliefs and doing so has given me the courage to inspire transformative positive changes within myself and for others through my work and relationships.”
There are so many happy stories, emails and texts like these — too many to count. And for all of this, I am forever thankful and feel motivated to sail further on my journey of helping women / mothers up-level their happiness in their careers and lives.
How about you? Today, what impact you have brought to the world through your work that makes you feel so grateful for doing the work that you do? Let’s sink into the positive emotions it brings so you’ll be able to innovate your solutions, bring more meaningful impact, and even feel more thankful by the next Thanksgiving.
Onwards to Happiness Infinity,
Amy Nguyen
