How to Find Your Talents, from a Kid’s View
As adults, most of the times, we only seriously question about our natural talents when we are forced to make a career change. How would a child think about this topic? Here is my 11-year-old son’s view. Ideally, he would have shadowed his mom’s work the core part of which is to help people to uncover their unique gifts, but looks like he was able to nail this weekly writing assignment for Happiness Infinity LLC.
Do you ever wonder how people like Mark Zuckerberg, Steph Curry, and Martin Luther King get a spark that starts up their inspiration? Well, I don’t know but one thing’s for sure, SOMETHING must have motivated them.
Maybe one of your parents or role models sparked your soul. For me, my idol is Steve Jobs because he created the company Apple which is a famous software engine that runs on Swift. A simpler version of what I’m saying is it’s a computer company. I got inspired by him because of my dad. My dad’s a software engineer (coder) and he types all these cool words and colors. After that, I found out my talent is computer programming and typing.
Most people are probably complaining, “Ugh, why am I so bad at EVERYTHING? I can’t even find a thing I’m good at.” Having a talent comes naturally so be patient and wait for it to come. While you are waiting, appreciate the finer things in life and maybe you might get a talent of noticing details ;) If you’re more of a curious and adventurous person, go around places like New York, Paris, or even on the computer and find your talent. When you travel, it changes your soul and mind in many different ways like for example if you go and see a bullfighting contest, you might be inspired to do the same thing.
If you want to find a unique talent instead of a common and simple one, try to do things that you don’t like to do! I know this sounds completely absurd but it actually works! Before, I hated writing because it involved a lot of practice and time and I was NOT a patient person. But the more I wrote, the more exciting it became and soon, I loved writing and the reason is I can learn and use many complicated and cool words and after I finish my work, I can read it.
So, in conclusion, find your talent by following these steps or make your own! Wait, I just realized something… BONUS: RHYME.
Getting talents is a piece of cake.
